Blue Lotus Extract Tincture
Tincture of Blue Lotus - Nymphaea Caerulea,
Common names: blue lotus, Egyptian blue lotus, blue water lily, sacred lily of the Nile
Recent studies have shown Nymphaea caerulea to have mild psycho-active properties. It may have been used as a sacrament in ancient Egypt and certain ancient South American cultures. Eating Blue Lotus can act as a mild sedative. Nymphaea caerulea is distantly related to, and possesses similar activity to Nelumbo nucifera, the Sacred Lotus. Both Nymphaea caerulea and Nelumbo nucifera contain the alkaloids nuciferine and aporphine.
this tincture contains the active compounds of a plant which seems to act as a mild sedative. Although it has a long history, there have been few scientific studies conducted on the plant and its properties. Some users report no effects, others feel effects very vividly.
This tincture was created using a concentrated extract of blue lotus such that it has a strength of 1:1. That means that for every ounce of liquid, one ounce of blue lotus petals were used. The liquid consists of 60% water and 40% grain alcohol v/v (volume per volume). The active compounds of the plant dissolve into the water and the alcohol, while the alcohol also acts as a preservative. This means your tincture will have a shelf life of at least a couple of years. Another benefit of tinctures is that they are absorbed into the bloodstream rapidly. This allows for starting with a small dose, gauging the strength of the effect, and increasing the dose if necessary.
This plant is legal in the US, with the exception of the state of Louisiana. Therefore we will cancel any order with a shipping address in Louisiana.
